Kids Picture Dec. 2010

These pictures were taken for Christmas cards and for gifts for the grandparents.  The kids were cooperative and we got it done in record time.  The pictures were taken down town in Asotin Washington, next to City hall.

Christmas Program 2010

Emma and Roc's program was combined this year now that Roc is in kindergarten. It was a great way to celebrate the holiday. Porter enjoyed the program from the security and restraints of his car seat.  I will admit that now that we have moved to Medford Oregon I have a new appreciation for the Christmas program considering that in Medford they don't have a program, in fact they don't even have a music program.  It is sad to see what my other kids will miss.

Thanksgiving of 2010 was a bit of a challenge.  We drove through an ice storm.  A trip that would normally take 6-7 hours took 10-12 hours but we make it.  All the kids got to play in the snow and play lots of wii.  On Thanksgiving day we not only had tons of good food courtesy of Raini, we got to see grandma Lorrie and grandpa Dick who we hadn't seen in years.  It was a fun and crazy trip.  Maybe someday we'll get to do it again.

Halloween 2010

Emma chose to be a witch for Halloween, one of the more traditional costumes.  Surprise surprise, Roc was a superhero, this year he was Ironman, obviously inspired by the movie that recently came out.  Porter was a skeleton this year and to help him maintain his costume weight, his parents ate most of his candy for him.

Porter's unusual sleeping pattern 2010

First it was Emma on the couch (and any time after 7:30), followed by Roc in the highchair and now its Porter in the walker.  Each kid found unusual places to take a nap.  I guess if they can get in a semi comfortable position and are tired enough then they will take advantage of it.  I don't know if it is true but I have always thought that is a sign of good health and a clean soul to be able to sleep well.

Firefighters 10/06/2010

Today at school the kids were visited by the local Firemen and received a fireman hat.  The rest of the day they pretended to be firefighters.  This has no correlation to when Roc lit the laundry room garbage on fire and almost burnt down the house.

Porter keeps growing 2010

Porter continues to eat, grow and play.  It seems like he is growing faster than the other kids.  He is probably just trying to keep up and play with the older kids.  At the rate he is going he will be running before his first birthday.

What Was He Thinking?

It was a quiet Friday afternoon, the kids were outside playing and it had been at least 30 min. since we had heard a peep out of either one of them.  That always sends up huge red flags that they are doing something that they are not supposed to be doing.  Stacie races outside to find Roc sitting on the side of house.  When he hears her coming he immediately hides the marker and defensively places both arms behind his back.  Stacie had seen that look of guilt before, knowing that he was hiding something behind his back she demanded that he show her what he had in his hands, Roc professed that his hands were empty (surprise he was telling the truth).  As Stacie made a step toward Roc to see what he had, Roc did the wise thing and presented his hands to his mother explaining that "I wanted to know what it was like to be red."  Stacie was in tears she was laughing so hard.  Roc was relieved that he was not in trouble but then became embarrassed once the camera came out, realizing that if we thought it was something that was that funny that he may regret having evidence of it later.

Asotin County Fair 2010

Thankfully the Asotin County Fair has a family night which is on Thursday night and where you get two for one carnival passes.  Family night is also the least busy which allows you to ride more rides with shorter lines.  Like every year, Stacie refuses to ride the fun rides with the kids (claiming that they make her "sick") so we had to employ Uncle Tyler to help ride the rides with the kids. 

Easter 2010

Our annual Easter Event was filled with a lot of family time and no Easter would be complete without an Easter Egg hunt.  Emma and Roc found all the eggs, counted their loot and then brought the empty eggs to us and asked us to hide them again.  They enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt so much that when we refused to continue to hide the eggs they would take turns hiding the eggs for each other.  Porter on the other hand laid back and passively enjoyed the festivities.

Kaydence's Birthday Party 2010

After a fun day at Wallowa Lake we stopped by a local restaurant and celebrated Kaydence's Birthday with some cake and Hot Chocolate.  It was funny to watch Kaydence start with her fork and quickly progress to discover that it was easier to use her hands to eat her cake.  I do want to make a special note that the cake was made by Ryan and every one was able to eat the cake and up to this point there have been not reported illnesses related to its consumption.
