Winter time fun 2008

The kids took advantage of one of the few snow days in Asotin Wa.

This is Christmas of 2008.  The year that my parents came to Asotin and the year that we actually had snow (only one of 3 for the 11 years we lived there).  At first the kids went outside to shoot each other with the silly string they got from santa (notice the can in Roc's hand) and ended up making a little snowman.

Every year we had the privalige to get to go see the lights at locomotive park in Lewiston.  Years ago Ryan's aunt Jakie helped organize and get the community project off the ground and it still continues.  There are tons of lights that are sincronized with music, different light games, and a huge fire place to warm up with when it gets cold.  I think that all communities should have this.  It's a great way for families to do something fun together around the holidays that's free and stress free.  I know it has made an ever lasting memory for our children and at Thanksgiving every year they ask if it's time to go see the lights. 

Christmas 2008

Emma's was so excited about her princess dress and her concert. We are greatful that Asotin still has a music program and they do a Christmas concert. What fun the kids have learning new songs and performing for their families.

Christmas morning I imagine was fairly early, as it always is.  The fun part is that they open their presents and then for the most part entertain themselves with them.  This Christmas we had the opportunity to have my parents drive up and have Christmas dinner with us.  The kids were so excited that we not only had snow that year but grandma Kathy and grandpa Scott got to come and spent time with us.

These Pictures are the ones used for Christmas Cards and Gifts for the Grandparents in 2008.  It was a nice November day; the sun must have been out because in most of the pictures Emma was squinting her eyes.  Every time I see this picture I am reminded of all leaves that Ryan was supposed to rake up each year.

Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008, Roc was Spiderman and Emma was a princess (Cinderella).  We went to a select number of friends and family members homes.  The kids had a great time showing off their costumes.

Watching the guys come in off their fishing trip.  If I remember right they said it was a rough ride the whole time.  Looks like it was a fairly decent catch and all the kids had fun looking and watching them fillet them.

 

Our trip to the Hatfield Center after the Oregon Aquarium.  Both places were pretty cool and had lots for the kids to do.  We didn't get to do much here because we got there about 30 min before they closed.  I think the coolest part is the giant octopus that's right in the front door.  We were bummed we got there too late to watch the daily feeding.  The crab shirt that Roc's wearing he still tries to wear it today.  So he either hasn't grown a whole lot or I just bought it really big.  Either way it's still hanging around.  Can't wait to go back and take the kids again.  I think that they would enjoy and understand alot more.

Easter 2008

For those of you who can't remember what was big in 2008 (or those who can't see well enough to make out this picture), this was a Shrek Easter egg.

This is before the natural competition started, now (2012) they would have had a drag-out-knock-out-fight over that egg!

You can see that during this same year we started the addition to our home (who would have thought that the finishing touches would be added 4 years later, just in time to sell!)

Emma got one of her first makeup kits that year for Easter.  Thank goodness she let me help her put some on, now days she doesn't need my help she's to grown-up for that.
