For those of you who are concerned that our kids are not spoiled enough, here is another example, how many kids get multiple opportunities to celebrate their birthdays.  Just in case one time is not enough and just in case one cake is not enough, Emma and the rest of us got several chances to celebrate her birthday.

Fun for everyone at Chuck e Cheese!

Calvin was able to go on some of the rides as long as Porter would go with him.  This arrangement was good for Porter, that means more rides and tokens for him.

Emma really liked the photo booth, she did not want anyone else with here for the photos except Calvin but he was unable to sit still long enough to get it done.

Emma always enjoys playing at Chuck e Cheese.  This is good for the entire family, we get to go up to Portland and spend time with Aunt Nichole and Uncle Brian.  This time Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Scott came to enjoy in the celebration as well.

Rogue River Basketball Camp, June 2013

The biannual Rogue River basket ball camp.  It is a good time for the kids get instructions from some of the high school players and all the funds go to help the high school go to summer camps. 

Emma was excited to do the camp again this year, some of the instructors Emma remembered from last year.

This year Roc was much better at dribbling two basketballs.

Emma still had some difficulty dribbling two balls but she tried hard and was improved from last year.

Calvin watching, he still has a few years before he will get to play.  He does have Porter's toy, he better play with it fast before Porter sees him and takes it back.

Porter enjoying the camp, he wanted to be out there playing so bad, but he still has a few years before he will be out there.

This year the end of the school year camp went well.  Emma and Roc were much better then last year.  It is nice to have the camp, especially after the last day of school.  It helps drain some of the energy and suppress the excitement of being out of school for the summer, it also is a lot of fun for the children.

Free Fishing Day, June 2013

 

A beautiful day to take part in some free fishing in Oregon at Lake Selmac.

Porter never sat down but did continue to fish just as long as everyone else.

Emma does not care for fishing but she did enjoy her time out doors with the family. Emma was also a big help corralling Calvin.

Calvin was not sure about the fish. He would reach out to touch the fish, the fish would squirm and Calvin (and Porter) would freak out.

We did have one casualty, Calvin fell into the water.  For those of you who remember family pictures and Porter's dive into the water, this time Ryan was the one that had to go in after him.  One important note, Ryan showed the proper form for rescuing a child from an unplanned swim.  Ryan was completely dry! He did not even get a foot wet, hopefully Stacie learned from Ryan's example because next time one of the kids go in it will be back to her turn to go in after them!

Roc is always great at catching fish, today he was the only one to catch a rainbow trout.

We decided to go fishing (on short notice).  We got up in the morning and found out that it was free fishing day so we packed up and headed to Lake Selmac to try our hand at some fishing.  It was a fun day the only issue was that all the fish were too small to keep.  The rainbow trout that Roc caught could have been a keeper but it was just snagged and it was toward the end of the day so we decided to throw it back and we would come back later in the summer and re-catch it when it has had more of an opportunity to grow.  Was a fun day and an enjoyable time with the family.

Calvin has gotten into the habit of taking his clothes off and putting them back on.  If you look close in the first two pictures you will notice that he actually had two shirts on.  One was the pajamas that we put him in when he went to bed, the other was a shirt that he was able to get his hands on from his laundry basket through his crib bars.  The other picture with the red shirt you will see that he put his body through the neck hole.  Stacie was not happy because he stretched out his shirt.  On the other hand it is a creative way to make your normal shirt into a belly shirt!  This is funny to reflect on now because he now just takes his clothes off and makes no attempts to get redressed so he can run around in just a diaper.

Emma's Makeover, May 2013

Emma went to her first non family birthday party which included a makeup makeover.  She was so excited.  It was fun for her and as long as she does not make it a daily habit I think that we can handle it.
