Christmas Tree, December 2013

Ryan was sent back to the truck to get the camera and Roc was in charge of cutting down the tree.  By the time Ryan got to the truck Stacie had cut down the tree and dragged the tree back to the road.

It is always fun to go out and cut down the family Christmas Tree.  This year we thought we would let Roc cut down the tree, he gave a good 30 seconds of cutting before he passed off the cutting of the tree to Stacie while Ryan was getting the camera.  I am sure some day Roc will be able to cut down the family tree but it is not this year.  After getting the Christmas Tree we came home and broke out the decorations.  Fortunately, Calvin took a nap and allowed us to finish the decorations before he started rearranging everything. 

Halloween, October 2013

We must have taken 20-30  pictures to get one that everyone was looking at the camera and the funny part was as we scrolled through the pictures Roc looked like a statue that never change his expression.  Next year mask for all the kids!

 

 

We had another successful Halloween.  We toured town where the local business provided candy for the children, we also went to the local charter school for a Halloween carnival.  Both events went smoothly and the kids had a blast dressing up and of course the candy never hurts!

That was nice of Grandma Lynn to get Calvin and the other kids presents that are noisy.  We will have to misplace that present.

Porter has an unusual method of eating his cupcake, he is one of the few kids that prefers not to get his hands messy (at least with this cupcake, other things he will dive in hands first).

Calvin celebrated his 2nd birthday.  Calvin is way ahead of schedule, he has been in his terrible 2s for at least 6 months.  Calvin had a great birthday, lots of presents, surrounded by family and no party would be complete without cupcakes.

Roc left his football helmet out and Calvin wasted no time in taking advantage of such a great opportunity.  We found out that the helmet worked as Calvin ran down the hall and the helmet got too heavy and he took a header into the wall.  He jumped up unscathed and continued running down the hall.  Just a glimpse into our craziness we call life.

This year Ryan volunteered to help out the local school by coaching the Rogue River Junior High School football team.  It was a busy time with Emma's Cheer, Porter's Soccer and Roc's and Ryan's football.  The Junior High season ended in a tie game with no overtime which was shocking to Ryan who thought that they would play an overtime quarter.  But the season was still a success and a great learning opportunity for the players and Ryan.

 

What is Calvin Thinking? October 2013

 

 

Somethings make you wonder what in the world they are thinking.  We already learned that if you put Calvin in pajamas that have the feet covered you will find the pajamas on the floor outside of the crib.  We have always had difficulty getting Calvin to cover himself with blankets but now we know why, he just uses the fitted sheet as his blanket.  It is shocking the first time you walk in to get Calvin up and you can't find him, only to hear and see the sheet and blankets starting to move.  Fortunately it is just Calvin!

If you watch the video on YouTube you will see Porter using that hoodie that he is eyeing like a leash to control that player.

It is always good to see the supervisor untangling kids form the wreckage of  bodies during the non contact sport of soccer.

What a rough sport.  Roc has nothing on Porter just because he plays football!

One of my favorite pictures!  In the middle of the game some kid stepped on one of the low profile cones and did not even stop to fix it.  Porter could not let that go, he stopped mid game to fix and straighten the cones.

Look at how closely Porter examined the cones to insure that they are perfect prior to placing back where it goes.  I think a see a future Inspector No. 8.

 

After watching Roc play all kinds of sports this was Porter's first opportunity to be the one playing. It also gave us the opportunity to practice going to multiple sporting events on the same day.  Porter took to the game like fish in water.  He used every advantage he could find including controlling other kids by pulling on their clothes.  Some kids were very passive and mellow, Porter on the other hand was as aggressive as he had been trained to be by Roc.  He ran nonstop for the entire game (with exception of when he had to fix the cones or if a plane flies by).
