Halloween 2009

Yes, that's right Stacie bought a costume for Odie (and I can't prove it but I think that Ryan ate his candy).

Halloween of 2009, Roc continues his obsession with super heroes, choosing to be Wolverine and Emma chose to be Tinker Bell.  Like always they made a hall of candy but their favorite part is the opportunity to dress up and show off to friends and family.  It also gives us the opportunity to open up our minds and to see the world through the eyes of the children reminding us of what it was like to use our imagination.
 

Emma's Spring Dance Recital 2009

Emma continues to learn and grow with each dance recital.  This was her second dance recital, giving her the opportunity to learn another style of dance.  It is fun to see her up there with her friends having a good time and showing off the hard work that each of them has put in to learning the routine.  If you asked her I think her favorite part was either the rose that she got from Grandma Lynn or the cookie and juice that she got after it was over (I know that the cookie and juice was Roc's favorite part!).

Easter 2009

As you can see, as the kids got a better understanding of Easter, and as they got older and faster it was more difficult to take a good photo (I am mostly confident that the blurriness had nothing to do with operator error!). 

Easter 2009 was celebrated in LaGrande Oregon at Grandpa and Grandma house with Scott, Raini, Portia and possibly Ryver.  I know that everyone had a great time especially Ryan who took the opportunity to do some golfing with Scott.

An instant bound/alliance was formed between Odie and Roc!

Odie was a great addition to our family, bring great entertainment and joy to the children.  He was sold to us as a choodle but was later discovered that he was probably more likely a rat terrier mix (with more emphasis placed on rat), I really didn't matter to use he was a beloved member of the family who did not care for Ryan at all.  Unfortunately he was not able to make the long journey on the move to Medford Oregon in 2011, but he was able to find another loving family to join.

Emma's winter dance recital 2009

I can't believe how young she looks.  This is her first recital.  We were blessed with Emma being able to do dance.  The teacher was her physical therapist and made the dance according to the abilities of the girls.  It was great because the girls would never have been able to take dance if it wasn't for the dance company allowing them to make a special class.  It was amazing to see Emma come alive in a whole new way when she was dancing.

Winter time fun 2008

The kids took advantage of one of the few snow days in Asotin Wa.

This is Christmas of 2008.  The year that my parents came to Asotin and the year that we actually had snow (only one of 3 for the 11 years we lived there).  At first the kids went outside to shoot each other with the silly string they got from santa (notice the can in Roc's hand) and ended up making a little snowman.

Every year we had the privalige to get to go see the lights at locomotive park in Lewiston.  Years ago Ryan's aunt Jakie helped organize and get the community project off the ground and it still continues.  There are tons of lights that are sincronized with music, different light games, and a huge fire place to warm up with when it gets cold.  I think that all communities should have this.  It's a great way for families to do something fun together around the holidays that's free and stress free.  I know it has made an ever lasting memory for our children and at Thanksgiving every year they ask if it's time to go see the lights.
